watching mha, playing danganronpa, etc, it's so refreshing to see a piece of media with a predominantly female cast that doesn't focus much on men and doesn't have any fanservice. the little fanservice it does have is heavily satirized and calls out the very people it's pandering to, such as during the beach scene.
my only issue with the show is konata's father, whos a lolicon and is incredibly weird towards his own daughter and his other young relatives. luckily, he's not in the show that much, but it's weird that such a character is played for laughs when what he's doing is incredibly weird and disgusting and happens in real life. konata and hiyori are relatively perverted, too, but i feel like it's made more palatable considering they're the same age as the rest of the cast and never cross any boundaries.
besides that, though, it's a really lovely show. at first i was hesitant to watch it because it seemed like it would just be a boring slice of life anime, but it certainly is popular for a reason and i'd reccomend it to anyone. it's definitely really well-known in a lot of online spaces so i'd be surprised if you haven't watched it, though. another reason i wanted to watch it, though, was because of subahibi's references to the anime during its first two or three chapters (kagami and tsukasa are characters in the game). the characterization in subahibi is incredibly on point, which i had no idea about while playing it. a part of me wonders if yuki's meant to be similar to konata.
anyways, lucky star is hilarious and really, really entertaining. it has a really dynamic cast and is unfortunately a very short watch, so you can probably binge it in a day or two.
